Volunteering
We’re a charity-run outdoor activity and conference centre with a small team. To grow and build capacity, we would love people to help us with the following areas. So if you feel you’ve got a few hours to spare and help, fancy a career as an outdoor instructor or just to be part of a quirky and fun team sometimes, please get in touch and let us know which areas you’d like to help with, and how much time you can spare a week or month.
Volunteering Opportunities
Outdoor activities / instructors – find out what it takes to be a freelance outdoor instructor from some of the best and most experienced instructors in the North West
Reception / admin – answer the phone, cover the desk, take phone messages, assist with conference/meeting room set ups and help us with simple enquiries.
Catering / food service – work alongside Kirsty and her team in our kitchen, serving up breakfasts, light lunches, BBQS and three course meals – made from scratch with quality locally sourced ingredients. We would especially welcome help with large groups (60-180)
Indoor maintenance – if you’re handy with a screwdriver or paintbrush, please help us maintain our 20 bedrooms and 4 meeting rooms
Grounds maintenance – mowing, pruning, weeding, sweeping leaves, tidying up flower pots, basic gardening
We already work closely with Bolton Conservation Volunteers – contact Rick Parker there for more ideas and opportunities as they also help with projects around Lever Park/Rivington Pike.
School Work Experience
We support quite a few high schools in Chorley and Horwich with their work experience programme – including one from Paderborn, Germany (hello Elke!) and are currently at capacity with offering work experience opportunities.
If you’d like to be added to our waiting list, please email info@andertoncentre.co.uk and state the area of interest (business admin/reception; outdoor instructors, food service/catering).
