We have 20 ensuite bedrooms that sleep a maximum of 70, across three accommodation blocks and only ever have two schools maximum staying overnight so children get a really personalised experience.
We pride ourselves on our home-cooked food provided in our comfortable dining room; deal for students to practice social skills for their personal development and independence away from home.
If you’ve already booked school’s Year 6 residential, why not try our place as a one night taster, suitable for Years 3, 4 and 5s.
Sample activity programmes
Most programmes combine land and water activities – using Lever Park and Rivington Pike for longer stays – with instructor-led activities until 8.30pm every evening.
One of our many strengths as an independent charity-run centre, is that we are flexible. So if you have specific themes you’re exploring in school (eg, the Stone Age – fire-buidling, campfire cooking, bush craft; Pirates – maps, lake orienteering, walks up to Rivington Pike, treasure hunts) and would like us to gear up your residential stay to fit with school’s themes, just ask!
We can also be flexible on arrival and departure times, depending on how far away you are travelling from. We are within an hour’s journey of Merseyside, Manchester and most parts of Cheshire – click here for our location.
Our prices include all food (apart from lunch on day 1 – bring your own from school/home), bedding and equipment/kit hire for your stay. 1 free staff place per 10 student places. For a full quote and to check availability please email us or ring 01257 484 220.

Brinscall St John came for the first time in 2014, again in 2015 and rebooked for next March, finding the one night away from home to be an invaluable experience.
“The children had an amazing experience. The instructors helped to develop their self-confidence and were patient and supportive throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and the effort put into making us feel welcome was outstanding. Many, many memories were made for the children over those two days and a huge thank you to everyone.”
