Our charity centre’s mission is to get more children, young people and adults enjoying the benefits of the great outdoors.  We keep our costs as low as possible but have to ensure a small surplus is generated to reinvest into our equipment, kit, outdoor learning resources and land and water-based activities.

Reinvestment and maintenance

1309c960 - CopyThis small surplus or profit is key to our aims of providing quality outdoor learning activities, conferencing and residentials.  It funds general site maintenance of the indoors (20 ensuite bedrooms, self-catering block, 4 meeting rooms, dining room and professional kitchen, wet changing rooms, boat house, outdoor learning building and toilet block) as well as looking after our large and beautiful outdoor woodland grounds and trees.  Safety is of paramount importance so our roped equipment (two abseil trees, low ropes, Jacob’s Ladder, crate stack, tree climb) needs regular maintenance and checks.  Our fleet of sailing boats, canoes, kayaks, windsurfs and safety boats need regular servicing and care.

Our mission

Water activities KS2 day trips Anderton Centre Chorley Lancashire PrimaryOutdoor activities and residentials for schools, community groups, charities and youth groups are subsidised by our Corporate Team-Building and Conferencing provision, so North West businesses can book an away-day or meeting room with the knowledge that their team-building day is helping local children and young people to access outdoor activities and life-changing residentials to broaden their horizons and hopefully spark a love of the great outdoors that will stay with them (and their friends and families) for a long, positive and healthy life.
