Dinghy Sailing Youth Level 1
The aim of this course is to introduce you to the sport of sailing. You will develop your skills to a point where you are able to sail a dinghy in light to moderate winds on all points of sail. Upon completion of the course you will receive a nationally recognised RYA stage 1 certificate accredited by the Royal Yachting Association.

During the 2 day Youth Sailing scheme level 1 course you will cover the following:
- Learn how to launch and recover the boat
- Basic sailing skills
- parts of the boat
- Basic Rope work
- Collision avoidance
This will be covered using a variety of techniques including simulator work, practical exercises and classroom based learning. Our staff are highly experienced instructors who will endeavour to make the course an enjoyable and memorable experience.
- No previous experience is required.
- You must be between 8-15y to take part in this course.
The Anderton Centre will provide wetsuits and buoyancy aids. Additional kit you may wish to bring include:
- Swimwear & a towel
- Warm outdoor wear, hat , gloves etc
- Sun cream
- Drinks bottle / flask
- Packed lunch
- Trainers you don’t mind getting wet / wetboots
- Any medication you require
